This cookbook has been created to give you a pinch of our “Italianness” and to help you use our products, in an authentic way, as a true Italian would do. You will find recipes that recall the tradition of Italian cuisine in its simplicity, but also creations with modern combinations and in line with the tastes of new generations. Buying Italian products is easy, but it is hard to go home and combine them to create unique dishes. Our cookbook will help you with this. Yes, because the great project of PURO is to transform food into a metaphor for social relations, a kind of glue to involve consumers in our passion.

Hi, I’m Melania, I have studied advertising and photography but as first job I am a pastry chef and chef whenever needed. This job has allowed me to develop creativity and curiosity in this field. I love gourmet cuisine and sushi, but I never forget my Italian origins made of generous and tasty dishes.

Dreams as a child, who you are today and how the passion for cooking is part of this path.

As a child I dreamed of becoming many things including a singer, a hairdresser, a ballet dancer. My family has a story with food and after many hours spent in the kitchen with my grandmother, I realized that putting my hands in the dough was the most satisfying thing. I can certainly say that I have an empathic relation with food.

Tradition or innovation. And why?

I like cooking traditional dishes in a modern way, because presentation is important but the substance in the dish is a must.

Do you reveal your tricks or you keep your secrets all for yourself?

I like revealing tricks and sharing recipes because we all have a different approach: what I create will always be different if processed by others. Jealousy doesn’t lead to great results.

My name is Domenico, I’m 37 years old and I’m an informatic technician. I love my job but when I want to take my mind off I start cooking. In the kitchen I feel free to express my creativity and cooking for my family and friends makes me really happy.

How do you combine your private life with this passion for cooking, which requires time and dedication?

I always have little time available, but whenever I can I turn on the stove and start to cook something for myself and my family. I look for new ideas or recipes in the evening when I’m on the sofa.

Who taught you how to cook?

My grandfather and my mother... I watched them amazed turning a few simple ingredients into delicious dishes.

Do you reveal your tricks and secrets in the kitchen or do you keep your secrets all for yourself?

I love to share my passion for cooking with my friends and tell them about my dishes. The real secret of my cooking style is the choice of ingredients.

My name is Linda, I’m 30 years old. I was educated according to the old-fashion way, I love kindness and Bon Ton. I like aligned cutlery, porcelain and tea services.

The first memory related to the passion for cooking.

My passion for cooking dates back 20 years when an old aunt used to create a workstation with various ingredients to entertain me and the only rule was to “get my hands dirty”. “Getting my hands dirty” became then one of my favorite passion.

The features of your cooking style.

My cooking style is made of simple ingredients: aubergines, Pachino tomatoes, pistachios from Bronte, citrus fruits.

Your main dish, the one that friends and family ask you to cook for them?

My main dish? Aubergine parmigiana (Parmigiana di Melanzane).

Hello, my name is Valentina, I am 36 years old, I am the mother of a 7-yearold child. As official job, I create a line of clothing for girls. I have a great passion for cooking and I like spending all my free time with my son and preparing different dishes. Cooking relaxes me, I love it and even more I like doing it for the people I love.

My first memory is linked to my paternal grandmother, who never stopped preparing delicious sweets.

How do you combine your private life with this passion for cooking, which requires time and dedication?

That’s a good question. And the answer is... it’s not easy! I work a lot, a 7-yearold boy full of energy, housework... but for me it’s a necessity, taking a break, cutting, kneading, cooking... it gives me peace of mind so I try to find the time to do what I love.
